Daddy Diaper Days

Have I mentioned yet how much I love the father of my child? If not I need to. I love him so much! He gave me the most amazing gift a person could ever give, and that is my daughter.

Since the day Mavity was born the Daddy man has been really good to her. He has changed her clothes, fed her, wiped her drooly face put her to sleep etc. But the one thing he has been afraid to do was change her diaper. I'm not sure if it was the fact that she was a girl that scared him or the fact that she might pee or poo on him. Either way it was not something that he wanted to do. This caused a few friction filled moments for us but overall I was ok with it because I figured someday he would come around. A week or so ago the 3 of us had gone swimming. Mavity loves the the water! After the pool I needed to rinse her and myself off so we got in the shower. I called the Daddy man in to have him take Mav while I finished showering (it's so nice to shower and not have to worry about what the baby is doing, I actually got to shave my pits and legs!) After my shower I got out and saw the Daddy man holding Mav still wrapped up in her towel. I kind of laughed to myself and wished that maybe she peepeed on him but no such luck! I was kind of shocked (but kind of not) to find her still nakey in her towel. I took her and pushed the Daddy man into the nursery so he could learn how to put a diaper on the baby. Sooooo....On Father's day we went swimming and again Mav and I took a shower and rinsed off and I again handed her off to the daddy man. During my shower the Daddy man comes in holding Mav and holding the diaper on her. He then says, "this diaper doesn't fit!" I looked at it and tried not to laugh because he had the diaper on backwards. I said, "yep, thats because you have it on backwards." "But it's not sticky," he says. "Yep, thats because you have it on backwards." He left to go try again and he succeded!. =) I spent the rest of my shower with a grin on my face because it was one of the cutest things ever!

The Monday morning after Father's day I woke up with the stomach flu. =( The daddy man stayed home from work to help me take care of Mav. He got up with her at 7am and took care of her while I slept. I got up around 8:30 and went to check on them. Mavity was out of her pj's and into a cute little outfit. I said "wow, did you change her diaper and her outfit?" And he said, "well she sure didn't do it." Hahaha. It was really cute. He had changed her diaper for the first time and he survived! A little bit later she was sitting on his lap and then he all of a sudden jumped up holding Mavity in a funny position and said, "here take her!" I asked why and he said "because she is leaking poo!" I took her and he then told me that she had gotten it all over him! Way to go Mavity!!!

For father's day I got the Daddy man a new basketball and new shorts (awesome gifts I know!). By Monday I had thrown the basketball into some cactus and popped it and Mavity had poopied on his shorts! Happy Father's Day daddy man!!!
